Particle Size Reduction Technology

CAI Catalysts staff have extensive experience of particle size reduction technologies and how they can be applied to the unit processes in catalyst manufacturing, helping clients to properly select and optimize the process type and equipment, resulting in economical and repeatable size reduction for bench-, pilot-, and production-scale quantities.

The June 2011 issue of Chemical Engineering featured an article on particle size reduction techniques and approaches to maximizing the effectiveness and economy of this very important unit process within the supported catalyst manufacturing industry.

The authors review the various fundamental techniques for particle size reduction, with specific examples of equipment types that perform these basic functions.  They then examine the key characteristics of the application that influence the selection of an appropriate reduction technique and the various steps that one takes in choosing the appropriate equipment.
